Xcloud Macbook Pro
Microsoft Project xCloud is now available in a beta form for iOS. Right now, only Halo is available, but Microsoft plans to bring many more games to it. So I've been using xCloud to play some games on my browser when I am away and the input lag used to be somewhat okay, but I loaded up Destiny 2 today to test the 60 FPS and FOV slider for the cloud and the input lag is a good 1-2 seconds on a wired Xbox Controller. Jul 23, 2021 Oct 26, 2017. I just recently upgraded my internet service from 60 mbps to 400 mbps and gave XCloud a whirl. In terms of graphics and overall streaming, it was pretty darn flawless. It honestly felt like I was playing natively. My only issue, and it's a big one, is the input lag. This week, MobileSyrup managing editor Patrick O’Rourke, along with staff writers Bradley Bennett and Brad Shankar, sit down to chat about Apple’s new 16-inch Macbook Pro, the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Google Stadia’s lacklustre launch and Microsoft’s xCloud.
Patrick recently went to New York for the unveiling of the new MacBook. The changes to the design are, in a word, subtle, but the team is cautiously optimistic about the keyboard changes.
Four years ago, Ford declared that it wanted to build an electric car for the masses. Now, the first electric Mustang is here. Bradley spent some time with the car at the press event and is impressed with what Ford hast to offer. However, as he points out, it’s probably still not at a price point that will convert the majority of car-using consumers.
Next, the “original” Brad walks the team through Google Stadia and what users are saying after launch. As Brad points out, Stadia’s main problem at the moment is that it’s not the “Netflix of games” many people assumed it would be. You still have to purchase each game individually. In addition, there are not many games currently available on the platform, a handful of the promised features are missing and there are cheaper and/or more robust game streaming options out there.
One of those upcoming competitors is Microsoft’s xCloud. The service is currently in preview and already has more than double the number of available games that Google Stadia has on its platform.

After more than two months of beta testing, Microsoft is readying the launch of its xCloud Game streaming platform on Safari, Edge, and Chrome in the “next few weeks.” This comes after Microsoft had been pushing to bring xCloud to the App Store.
The company made the announcement today in a blog post about “bringing the joy and community of gaming to everyone.” Here’s what Microsoft said:
In the next few weeks, cloud gaming on the browser will open to all Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members. With Edge, Chrome, and Safari support, players will be a click away from gaming on almost any device.
Microsoft wanted to offer the xCloud Game platform as an app on the App Store, but since Apple policies don’t allow app stores inside the App Store, the Redmond had to scrap its plans last year.
In April, Microsoft announced it was going to open the beta test program of xCloud Game on web browsers. To enjoy the platform, users must be an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscriber.
The public beta offered access to over 100 Xbox Game Pass titles. The official Game Pass has around 300 titles that are expected to work with xCloud Game without the need of a TV or a monitor, just a web browser on your iPhone and iPad, for example.
In the blog post, Microsoft also noted that “Cloud gaming through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will launch in Australia, Brazil, Mexico, and Japan later this year” as well.
With E3 starting this Saturday, Microsoft could be preparing to give more details about the xCloud Game at the conference.
